216 AC overflow pan clogged and causing water damage in 116!

(This is a private link I’m only making available to Robert and Clivens. I put it on my website so I can share it with the two of you through a link in a text message. Nobody else can see it, unless you send them the link.)

See below.

This problem also occurred a few months after I first moved in, and at that time the head of engineering told me (and showed me with paint repair that had been done previously) that it happened a while before that as well.

And man right now the whole area of the wall is turning to mush before my eyes and I’m helpless to do anything about it. I hope you can get someone into 216 in time to prevent any major damage in my place.

Thanks!

Jay

It’s now 4:00 AM and the wall in my apartment is already starting to fall apart. And this is through the night when the AC runs less. I sure hope someone can get into 216  in the morning and fix it before I need serious remedial work done. I don’t have the bandwidth for being out of operation – I need to be very busy working and using the video setup that I have here, and you know what a mess plaster and sheetrock and “sanding” can make! I don’t even want to think about it.

Thank you, Robert!

Jay

Robert,

The air conditioning unit above me in 216 apparently needs the overflow pan to be emptied and cleaned and it’s urgent that it’s done immediately. The drain hole of the drain pan is apparently clogged and the pan is overflowing. It’s dripping water into my room through the wall and will continue until this is done.

Attached are two pictures I took at about 1:30 AM about 20 minutes apart from each other. They show a paper towel I laid on the carpet and it shows the water it absorbed. It’s dripping loudly and at a regular rate behind my wall and soon it will be causing damage if it hasn’t done do by the time they clean the pan.

I had the identical situation a few months after I first moved into the room. At that time, my ceiling and wall because so badly water-damaged that after they cleaned and unclogged the drain pan in 216 and we gave everything time to dry, they had to come into my room and sand and paint the ceiling and the wall.

I will be sleeping late but they don’t need to come into my room. They just need to go into 216 and empty the drain pan and unclog the exit hole (or tube or whatever it’s called).

You may need Clivens to come in for this. And it will probably require the wet-vac.

They can come into my room to see the extent of water damage after I wake up but hopefully there will be little if any – depending on how soon they fix the problem.

Whatever they do, please don’t let them wait until I’m awake to see the amount of water coming down before they decide whether it’s urgent enough to disturb the guest(s) in 216 and go into the room and take care of this right away. Take my word for it, it’s URGENT and needs to be done immediately!

If you have any hesitation about that, call me on my alternate cell and wake me so they can come see the water in my room. I never have this on but I will keep it on and next to the bed so you can call and wake me if you want them to see the water in my room. If you call my regular cell and I don’t answer, then call this alternate number, and if I still don’t answer just call it again and again until it wakes me. It’s 954-295-2095.

Thanks!

Jay
